My Own Personal Review of The Dead Weather's Denver Show~

The Dead Weather, The Ogden Theatre Denver CO, July 17 2010~
Saturday July 17, 2010 was the hottest day of the summer in Denver thus far this year, reaching 101 degrees. Fortunately I was granted early entry and we got down to the Ogden around 7:30 for 7:55 entry.  Upon arrival we ran into my friend Luke who, earlier in the day, managed to meet Jack Lawrence and the elusive Mr. White and got pictures with them... I'm so jealous!  There were about 9 or 10 other Vault pairs that also got early entry.  Fortunately, some of them stopped for merc and I claimed my spot.

My proximity to Mr. White and his kit
So there was NO RAIL in front of the stage and I got myself right up there.  In fact, I actually tripped in my haste & excitement to get to the stage.  If you'll notice, he's unveiling a new drum skin that has a pic of himself from the Sea of Cowards album photo shoot.  There was also a new to me backdrop, different from the April TX shows I saw.

The lovely Miss Mosshart fucking ROCKED IT
I think the altitude may have been bothering her (?).  They didn't play "Gasoline" or "I Can't Hear You" :(  In retrospect, I feel like they actually focused more on songs where Jack primarily sings or she doesn't have to reach as far vocally.  Several people around me thought she was running off the stage for oxygen at various points, and that there was an asthma inhaler on the stage.  I'm not sure, but if that's the case, I really appreciate her effort because it was still a phenomenal show.  No Horse and Hustle & Cuss were really memorable, and they are not even my favorite songs on the album.

Dynamo's Dean Fertita and Jack 'LJ' Lawrence (who never stood still enough for me to get a good shot)~

Mr. White's mind-blowing guitar solo during "Will There Be Enough Water"~
At this point I got a little bit of his sweat on me... a completely surreal moment.

And they're spent~
